Halal is a USD3 trillion behemoth industry and poised to reach USD8 trillion by 2030. But the industry is still not fully digitalised. It is still very conventional in the way it operates, which gives rise to a lot of asymmetry in information and industry landscape, favouring big conglomerates rather than SMEs.

If we can fully digitalise the Halal industry, we can see a more efficient and transparent certification process using blockchain technology which sees the rightful people deserving the halal certification. We can monitor abattoirs using IoT technology, getting real live updates and instant data collection on the journey of the halal meat from farm to fork. This and much more. The digitalisation of the Halal industry is still a blue ocean and the prospect of it might be far larger than the prediction of USD8 trillion currently.
